The Fall of The United Nations

What is War?

What purpose war serves and how it should be conducted is a topic of debate with the UN, as well as many other clans. I have my personal idea as to what a clan war should mean, which is listed below.

My Idea of War

A clan war should not be meant to destroy a clan. A clan war is meant to find out which clan is superior in-game. As such, there should be no spying, hacking, or other types of conflict that does not serve the prior purpose.

In order to see which clan is superior in game, the playing field has to be fair and balanced. This means that no custom maps or gamemodes should be used. The only acceptable gamemodes and maps in Halo: Reach would be maps found in matchmaking, including MLG. Although MLG is preferred because it provided the most balanced game possible, it is not required. By the map being fair and symmetrical, the only thing that separates the teams would be skill, which is the main reason of the battle.

This concept has been adopted by Gamebattles.com, the largest site for clan battles across multiple games and platforms.  This reflects the idea that the prior philosophy is popular, and is the best way to conduct clan battles.  For the link to the gamebattles rules, use the following link:

*Note that the rules for gamebattles are complex, but can be simplified into only a few basic rules.

The UN's Idea of War

The UN has adopted the idea that in war there are no rules.  This raises too many issues and is a broken system. For example:

1. Can hackers be used to win a war?

When I asked JB this about this a during the USC, he said that they cannot. However, if there are no rules, what is preventing their use.

2. How do you know who wins?

If there are no rules, then how do you know who wins? There would be no clearly defined objective, and as such, the destruction of the opposing clan would be the only way to achieve victory.

Is Spawn-Killing Fair Game?

Recently, GeneralJB posted on youtube, clearly stating that spawn-killing is a legitimate war to tactic in battle. This should speak for itself.
Spawn-Killing does not prove anything in battle. However, the UN collectively still views it as a valid battle.
