The Fall of The United Nations

Is The United Nations Important?

Although much of the action within this circle has revolved around the UN, I feel that this is completely unjustifiable. I have actually come the question the legitimacy of the UN itself. The only power that the UN exercises is its political influence, arguably, the UN has no military power at all.  Since the UN appears to be unable to defend its own interest without the aid of alliance members, It appears that the UN has to resort to alternate methods of defending itself.

UN Alliances

The United Nations clan has always had many allies. This is different from the actual United Nations, which serves as a neutral party when dealing with international affairs. The question then arises, why does the UN have alliances?

I believe that the UN requires alliance to compensate for the UN's lack of military power. During times of conflict, they tend to have other clans declare war on there enemies, most notably when the UN convinced  GoS to declare war on OAF.  This shows that the UN is not capable, or willing to fight its own battles.  Please note that Keep defenses are not legitimate battles, this battles tend to be EXTREMELY unfair, with unfair maps and uneven teams commonly being used.

Another major issue with the UN in regards to alliances in the UN's unwillingness to help its allies. For example, when the Third Echelon had a rebellion, the leader of T.E. asked the UN for military assistance. The UN declined this request, saying that their attention was drawn elsewhere.  However, during the time of this request, the UN's military was not being deployed in other conflicts, and was readily available for combat.

This makes it clear that the UN tends to use its allies for personal gain, and does act to protect their allies when it does not benefit the UN. Also, to refute some responses in advance, the decision to help a clan is not a choice, it is a contract. Allies are created to help mutually protect two clans, as such, the UN was obligated to help T.E., but refused to do so.

Inability to Lead?

One fact that is nearly indisputable is the fact that the UN is not capable of acting without one of its two main leaders online (JB/Shadow). This is true for most clans, however, in the UN is is a problem because of the amount of time that they are available. Since the leaders of the UN are siblings, they share a console, and have the same  are available at the same time.  The issue is that the time that they are available is extremely small. According to the availability times on the UN website, they have access to their Xbox for 38 hours a week. Assuming they are actually on for one third of this time, they are available only 7% of the week. However, this is a relatively high estimate, and in reality it is most likely less than that.

The UN is not capable of making international decisions without one of these leaders online. Even the UN council, the main decision making body within the UN,  cannot function without one of these leaders online.

Another major factor is the fact that the leaders are only online during weekends. This means that for five of the seven days a week, the UN is not fully functional. They are not capable of helping allies, or defending itself on weekdays. Making the UN a liability for its allies.

Is The United Nations Important?

These facts make a convincing argument against the UN's effectiveness as a clan. If they are not capable of supporting its allies by military means, and 93% of the time, is not capable of making decisions, this question is raised.

If the UN has no military power, why is it important? The main answer to this is its media control and political ties. This is a weak source of power, and can easily be toppled and destroyed.

Media Control

Again, the topic of the UN's media power appears. This power is known to the UN, and they appear to value it. JB has said that they clan "win a war by media". However, upon this sites creation, the UN's media power was threatened, and they took action to stop it. They claimed that the this site has lied and is wrong, even when proof and evidence has clearly been provided.

This appears to show that they are attempting to disprove this site in order to protect their media power. Only time will tell if this is successful. However, this site does effectively show how the power of media is a illusion, and not a power at all.

The media, fundamentally, is a way to spread information. Until the creation of this site, no alternative news source within this circle was successful at spreading information, besides the UNN. This allowed the UNN to place a biased view of subjects as fact, effectively causing clans to sympathize with the UN. The UN was capable of painting curtain clans or people as being bad or evil. This would cause hatred toward those people, which could only be removed by acting in the UN's interest.

The creation of this site proved that the UNN was biased. However, this was not the main effect of this site. This site has provided a alternate source of information that is as popular as the UNN. This has removed the ability of the UNN to pass bias as fact, effectively removing media power from the UN.

It should be noted that is site is not meant to replace the UNN as a biased news source. It was meant to remove the power of false media from the UN, and force the UN to tell the truth. As such, if you are capable of finding any factual errors with this site, please provide evidence, or argument to support this in the comments section. If you can find this site wrong or biased, corrections will be made.

Political Power

The UN's political power is bizarre, in the way that it is not enforceable. In the real world, the countries with the most political influence have a effective military to support their policies. (US, China, Russia, Great Britian ETC.) The United Nations clan is not willing to field its military, and as such, should not have political power.

The question then arises, if the UN never had military power, how did they enforce their policies? The answer to this would be their media power. They would use their uncontested media power to shame any opponents into following their policies. This allowed the UN to impose their will upon other clans without the use of military power.  The fact that they did not have to use military power also allowed them to claim that war was uncalled for, and subprofessional.

However, with the collapse of their media power at hand, their political power is also on the verge of collapsing, which is why they are so urgent to have the removal of this site occur. Currently, the only thing that keeps the UN's political power relevant is the fact that most clans are used to it. If a clan was to currently act in opposition the the UN's interest, they would be completely unable to stop it, effectively proving everything that has been stated on this page.
